Mizar Weekly | WEEE Recycling – How Electronic Waste Turns into Value
What is WEEE Recycling?
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) refers to end-of-life electrical and electronic devices such as washing machines, TVs, computers, small appliances, printers, electric toys, and medical equipment. Due to their size and the valuable metals they contain, WEEE is a top priority in modern recycling.
Why is it important?
In 2023, approximately 59.4 million tonnes of WEEE generated globally, projected to exceed 75 million tonnes by 2030. However, only 17% is officially recycled; the rest is discarded or illegally dumped.
WEEE contains valuable materials such as copper, aluminum, iron, and sometimes even gold, palladium, and silver, as well as recyclable plastics, rubber, and glass.
Mizar’s WEEE Recycling Solution
Mizar Recycling Machinery designs complete WEEE recycling lines capable of processing both large appliances and small electronic waste using a modular system. A typical line includes:
Double Shaft Shredder — safely breaks down large items
Hammer Mill — grinds mix into fine granules
Dosage Bunker — stabilizes material flow
Turbo Mill — enhances metal/plastic separation
Circular Vibration Separator — separates by size
Densimetric Separator — separates by density
Dust Collector — ensures a clean, safe environment
This configuration delivers high-purity metal recovery while minimizing environmental impact.
Recovered Outputs
You can obtain:
Copper granules (100% purity)
Aluminum fragments and sheets
